一日の中でもサーファーであれば決して逃すわけにはいかない日の出のタイミングに合わせて現地到着を果たしたDAY2がスタートとなった。
この日は、中村竜と同じの地元鎌倉の同級生の幼馴染みで現在は千葉南に拠点を置くプロロングボーダー吉川祐二とその息子のタイガも合流。
中村＆Kushner&吉川親子という豪華メンバーが集結となった。
弱いオフショアの面ツルのでセットオーバーヘッドのグッドコンディションに恵まれた中、数カ所のブレイクをチェックしつつ、ベストと思われるサンドバーにて早速セッションを決行！
They started DAY2 with arriving just in time for the sunrise that no surfers can miss. On this day, Yuji Yoshikawa, a pro long boarder who is now based in Chiba South, who is also Nakamura’s childhood friend from his hometown Kamakura, and his son Taiga also joined them.
Nakamura, Kushner, Yoshikawa, and their son. What a special members. The conditions were really good, with offshore, glassy and overhead waves. they started the session at the best sand bar after they checked some points.

「パパが乗った！」
さっきまで防波堤にセクションを見出してスケートボードでトリックを見せつけてきていた中村兄弟次男の滉（コウ）が発したそのひとことと共にカメラを向けたその先には、1本目の波から早朝らしいクリーンなシリンダーバレルを駆け抜けてきた中村竜の姿があった。
As I set up my camera for the Nakamura’s second son Koh, who found a section on the breakwater and showed off his tricks, Ryu Nakamura got a cylinder barrel that was typical of early morning from the first waves.

選べばチューブもある最高のコンディション。
この翌日にはアメリカに帰国する予定のKushner親子も、次から次へとチューブに突入していく。
The conditions were perfect with some tubes. Kushner and his son pulled in one after the other although their flight to the U.S. is on the next day.

それに刺激を受けてテンションがブチ上っている吉川タイガも、父がミッドレングスで大きなラインを描くその横でワイプアウトを繰り返しながらも持ち前のガッツで決して心折れることなくチューブを果敢に攻めまくる。
Taiga Yoshikawa was inspired by them and he was super excited. While his father drew a big line with his mid-length board, he repeatedly wiped out but never lost heart and attacked the tubes.

Surfing USAのコーチでもあるWarren Kushnerに上達のアドバイスをもらっていた中村源は、その効果が目で見て感じられるほど進化したライディングを連発。
Surfing USA coach Warren Kushner had given Gen Nakamura some advice on how to improve his riding, and he made visible growing.

波は一時間ほど経つと潮の影響もあり少しコンディションを落とし、このタイミングで中村竜は海から上がり、吉川親子も浜から波を再度チェック。
すると、今まで狙っていたバンクよりもさらに右側のバンクにヒットするグーフィーが、チューブ、リップ、カーヴィングと何でもありなパーフェクションと化していた。
After an hour, the wave conditions was getting worse a bit due to the tide, and Ryu Nakamura got out of the water at this time, and Yoshikawa and his son checked the wave again from the beach.
The goofy wave hit the bank further to the right than the one they had been targeting, and it turned into a perfect wave for tubes, rip, curving, and whatever else.
そのことをいち早く察知したKushner親子が、なぜか周りは混んでいるのに無人のそのピークの波を親子水入らずで堪能。
深いチューブ、スタイリッシュなエアリバースからカーヴィングにリッピングのコンボに至るまで、Kai Kushnerがさすがアメリカ代表選手を痛感せざるを得ないハイレベルなライディングを披露する中、それに同調するかの如く若さを取り戻したかのような父Warrenさんも波に乗ってはまた沖に出てまた乗ってを繰り返し、最終的にはフロントサイド・エアまでメイク！
まさにKushner親子ショータイムを繰り広げたのだった。
Kushner and his son were the first to notice this, and for some reason, they were able to catch the wave from the peak with no one around them, even though the surrounding area was crowded.
Deep tubes, stylish air reverses, carving and ripping combos. Kai Kushner was riding at a high level that reminded us that he is a member of the U.S. national team. On the other hand, his father Warren seemed to have regained his youthful spirit, and was riding in sync with him. He rode and paddle out, and rode again and again. Finally, he made a frontside air! It was truly a Kushner dad-son showtime.

早朝からぶっ続けで4時間近く海に入り続けてようやく海から上がってきたWarrenさんは、アドレナリン全開な笑顔で”Japan最高！So Fun！！”と歓喜の声を上げた。
さらに疲れをまったく知らないKai Kushnerはまだまだ波に乗り続け、チューブ、リップを決めまくり、それでもまだやり足りない様子で中村源、吉川タイガたちと共に海から上がってきた。
浜から見ていてもまだまだいい波が来続けているそのサンドバーに後ろ髪を惹かれながらも、お腹が空きすぎということで待望のラーメンでランチを済ませると、その足ですぐ近くにある吉川祐二の自宅で少しだけブレイクタイムすることに。
When Warren finally came out of the water after being in the water for nearly four hours straight since early in the morning, he was exclaiming “Japan is amazing! So fun!” with high adrenaline and smile on his face.
Kai Kushner never seems to be tired and continued to ride the waves and made tubes and ripping. He looks he can surf more though, he got out of the water with Gen Nakamura and Taiga Yoshikawa.
We were still looking back at the sandbar, where good waves were still coming in, but we were starving and decided to have a long-awaited ramen lunch. And then head to Yuji Yoshikawa’s house nearby for having a little break.
吉川邸には広い庭に150cmくらいの高さのプライベート・ランページが設置されており、子供たちは早速スケートセッションをスタート。
His house has a private ramp about 150 cm high, and the kids immediately started their skating session.

その元気な姿を、ポカポカと温かい陽の光が降り注ぐウッドデッキに腰掛けて眺める親たち。
吉川祐二が持つこの素晴らしい環境にWarrenさんはとても感動した様子だった。
そんなWarrenさんに、同じ地元で育ちながらも千葉南に拠点を移して独自の道を切り開き、現在のライフスタイルを築き上げた吉川祐二が、どれだけ自分に大きな影響を与える存在であるかを英語で説明する中村竜。
中村竜は言わずと知れたH.L.N.A代表。
サーフィンを中心とした次世代エクストリーム・スポーツシーンを引率する大きな存在としてビジネスにおいても大成している人物である。
そしてWarren Kushnerはアメリカ本土においてRANGE ROVERやBURGER KINGをはじめとした一流企業のCM映像を手掛ける大物ディレクターとして大成している人物。
仕事柄、都会を中心とした生活が必須なそんなふたりも憧れるライフスタイルを持つプロロングボーダー、それこそが吉川祐二なのだと思い知らされ、何が正解なのかわからないこの世の中において正解はたくさんあるのだと改めて痛感させられたのだった。
Parents sat on the wooden deck and watched their energetic children.
Warren very impressed with this wonderful environment that Yuji Yoshikawa has. Ryu Nakamura explained to Warren in English how influential Yuji Yoshikawa is to him, who grew up in the same hometown but moved to southern Chiba to carve out his own path and build his current lifestyle.
Ryu Nakamura is a well-known representative of H.L.N.A. and a major figure in business as a leader of not only surf scene but also the other extreme sports for next generation.
And, Warren Kushner is a successful director in the U.S. mainland who has created commercials for companies such as RANGE ROVER and BURGER KING.
I was reminded that Yuji Yoshikawa is a pro long boarder with a lifestyle that even these two men, whose jobs require them to live mainly in the city, would admire. I was reminded once again that there are many answers in this world where we do not know what the correct answer is.
さっきのサンドバーが気になって仕方なかったご一行は、吉川邸を後にして海へ。
が、時すでに遅しでサイドの風が入っており、あの波はどこかへ行ってしまったようだった。
数カ所チェックを入れ、結局DAY1の朝にセッションした場所が一番良さそうだったので2ラウンド目を決行。
波が大きくて海に入らず浜で見てばかりいた中村滉も、いよいよやる気となった様子でウエットスーツに身を包み、サーフボード片手に父の竜とWarrenさんと3人でパドルアウトしていった。
They left the Yoshikawa house and back to the sand bar in their mind.
But it was already too late with the side winds. It looks the waves had gone away. After checking a few more points, we finally decided a second round at the points where we had a session on the morning of DAY 1. Although Ko Nakamura had been watching from the beach instead of in the water because the waves were too big, but finally got motivated and paddled out with his father Ryu and Warren.

大人サイズでもセットで頭ちょっとはあるこの時の波は、常に波が大きいと言って海に入ることを拒んでいた滉にとって依然大きいに違いなかった。
が、この2日間、家族とその仲間たちが楽しそうにサーフィンする姿はその恐怖心を払拭させるには十分であったに違いないだろう。
そんな滉は父の竜にプッシュしてもらい、1本目から大人の頭サイズの大きめのセットの波にドロップ。
そのまま自力で沖までパドルアウトしてくると、再び父の竜にプッシュしてもらい2本目には胸肩くらいの形の良いミドルセットに乗ってロングライドを決めた。
滉の人生において最も大きな波を克服し、自分の限界を超えた記念すべき日となったに違いない。
The waves, which were a little over a head high even for adults, must have been big for Ko saying the waves were too big. But the sight of his family and friends surfing happily over the past two days must have made him dispel his fear.
Ko was pushed by his father, Ryu, and dropped into the first wave of the day, which size is over an adult’s head. He paddled out on his own and was pushed again by his father, Ryu, to try the second wave. Finally he got a good wave about chest-shoulder size and made a long ride. This must have been a memorable day for Ko as he conquered the biggest wave of his life beyond his limits.

たまにチューブの波もあり、選べばインサイドまで繋がる波もあり、沖で2発ターンを入れることも可能なここの波をそれぞれが思い思いのスタイルで楽しみ、吉川祐二はいよいよ本職であるロングボードでこの波を優雅に料理。
Sometimes tube waves were coming, some of the wave were connected to the inside, and it was possible to make two turns at lineup. So each of us enjoyed the waves in our own style, and Yuji Yoshikawa finally cooked this wave gracefully on his main long board.

小一時間程度経ったところで大人たちが海から上がり始めた一方で、このセッションの最後の最後まで海から上がってこなかったのは、あと一本、あと一本と何かを惜しむかのように波に乗り続けたKai Kushnerと中村源、そして吉川タイガの3人。
元を辿れば、8月のインドネシアのスンバワで中村源とKai Kushnerが友達になったことから派生した今回のトリップ。
あの日楽しかったインドネシアの旅の終わりに日本で再会する事を約束して別れ、そしてまた楽しかった日本の旅も終わりを告げようとしていた。
While the adults started to come out of the water after about an hour, it was Kai Kushner, Gen Nakamura, and Taiga Yoshikawa who didn’t come out of the water until the very end of the session, as if they were waiting for one more wave, one more wave, and so on.
This trip was originally derived from the friendship between Gen Nakamura and Kai Kushner in Sumbawa, Indonesia, in August.
At the end of their fun trip to Indonesia, they parted with a promise to meet again in Japan, and their fun trip in Japan was also coming to an end.

二度と戻らぬ時間。
今、目の前にある今は次の瞬間にはすでに過去となり、すべて思い出となっていく。
だからこそ楽しかった思い出は一生の宝物。
二度と来ない今を出来る限り最高の瞬間として刻み続け、そしてまた会う日まで。

自分の経験すべてを惜しみなく次世代に受け継ぐ想い溢れる父親たちが、息子たちの姿を見て少年の日のことを思い出す中村&Kushner親子トリップとなった。
Time that will never return.
The moment in front of us now will become the past in the next moment, and everything will become a memory.
That is why the fun memories are lifelong treasures.
As the best moment as possible, keep marking the every single moment which will never come back, and see you in the water.

This trip made Nakamura & Kushner so generous in passing on all their experiences to the next generation. Also the sons reminded the fathers the days when they were young. This was such a dad and son trip.
